The Drake Passage is infamously rough the currents at this latitude meet no resistance from any landmass, anywhere on the planet. Coupled with the area’s propensity for high wind, a crossing of the Drake Passage can be quite the adventurous exploit. However, the Drake experience may vary and can be calmer like crossing a lake on a rainy day, or it can be shaky, and the swells are over 6 feet, or more adventurous like a quake and the swells and winds are strong and may rock the vessel often. Family 1st Traveler, LLC's last expedition was similar to a lake experience, but this is not a normal sailing. Our travelers, who wish to avoid the Drake Passage will have the option to fly over.
